Seucirty sources used live ammunition and tear gas to disperse protesting voters in the constituency of Samannoud, Gharbiya, causing delays in the voting process. Police forces volleyed fire into the air to separate rioters in front of polling stations, before a large number of thugs stationed themselves to keep voters away, causing a state of panic among the electorate. A number of representatives for Abdel Halim Hilal (Muslim Brotherhood candidate for the Samannoud constituency) staged a sit-in inside the voting centers, objecting to the authorities' failure to register their presence when the stations opened for votes.
