Kefaya (enough) Movement has called all parties, political forces and leaders of the protest movements to participate in a "national coalition for change" to be a nucleus for a broad civilian change in Egypt. "I call on all parties and political forces, including the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) and leaders of social movements that have recently achieved great success, to the "National Coalition for change" that will be the nucleus of reform in Egypt, Kefaya new General Coordinator Abdel Halim Qandil said.
Qandil has described the last April 6 strike as more important than the uprising of Jan. 1977, because - as he put it – it was the beginning of a new era and an indication of the Egyptian people's ability to disobedience. "The change in President Mubarak's speech in the recent period is only in form, but positions themselves have not changed." Karima Kamal, member of the movement's coordinating committee, denied that the movement's role in the political life ended, adding: "Our movement has been founded in order to face the US-Israel aggression and change the authoritarian regime in Egypt. The movement's role in the coming period is to build bridges of communication between the Egyptian elites and the protest movements."
