Agouza Misdemeanor Court has postponed for the second time the appeal filed by four editors in chief: Ibrahim Issa of Al-Dostour, Wael Al-Ibrashi of Sawt Al-Ummah, Adel Hamouda of Al-Fajr and Abdel Halim Qandil of Al-Karama. The four were sentenced to a year in prison and a fine of LE20,000 each. The court postponed the case to January 31, 2009. Two ruling National Democratic Party (NDP) lawyers had accused the four editors of publishing articles tarnishing the image of NDP main personalities, starting with President Mubarak, NDP Policies Committee Secretary General Gamal Mubarak and a number of ministers.
