Cairo Criminal Court resumes Tuesday, the trial of 48 defendants over the killing of journalist Mayada Ashraf and two others, in the case publicly known as "Ain Shams incidents", Al-Bawaba News reported. Ashraf, who worked as a reporter in Al-Dostour newspaper, was shot dead in Ain Shams district during covering the clashes between Egypt's security forces and pro-Muslim Brotherhood protesters in March 2014. Defendants were referred to the criminal court in April, over accusations of killing Mayada, child Sherif Abdel Raouf, and Mary George, joining terrorist group, murdering with premeditation, crowding, at Ain Shams area in March 28, 2014, terrorizing citizens, and arson.
