The Cairo Criminal Court resumes Tuesday the trial of 48 defendants over the killing of journalist Mayada Ashraf and two others, in the case publicly known as "Ain Shams incidents", Al-Bawaba News reported. Ashraf, who worked as a reporter in Al-Dostour newspaper, was shot dead in Ain Shams district as she was covering clashes between security forces and pro-Muslim Brotherhood protesters in March 2014. The late attorney general Hisham Barakat has referred the defendants to the criminal court in April.
