Cairo Criminal Court resumes Wednesday the trial of 48 defendants over the killing of journalist Mayada Ashraf and two others, in the case publicly known as "Ain Shams incidents", Al-Bawaba News reported. Ashraf, who worked as a reporter in Al-Dostour newspaper, was shot dead in Ain Shams district during covering the clashes between Egypt's security forces and pro-Muslim Brotherhood protesters in March 2014. Defendants were referred to the criminal court in April.
