The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) decided on Thursday to stabilize the dollar price after gradual increase to register EGP7.73, while it was at EGP7.78 for bid prices in banks and at EGP7.8301 for asking prices. The USD has been fluctuating dramatically in the past two weeks after remaining stable for a long period at EGP7.14. The dollar's value on the black market also rose as a result, registering eight pounds. The CBE's bids are aimed at increasing the amount of dollars held by Egyptian banks in order to meet the increasing demand by businesses for lines of credit.
