The Iraqi army and U.S.-led International coalition killed Saturday 18 Islamic State (IS) militants across Iraq, Al Bawaba newspaper reported. Iraqi Ministry of Defense announced in a statement that the coalition conducted 6 airstrikes targeting IS' sites in Al Anbar, killing two militants as well as destroying a fighting position and a vehicle. Since 2014, Al Anbar has witnessed fierce clashes between the Iraqi military forces and IS militants, who took over the province. The Ministry added that the coalition launched two airstrikes on IS' sites in Mosul, killing a militant. Mosul is Iraq's second largest city, currently the largest city under IS control. It added that the Iraqi forces and Hashad Al Shaabi (Popular Crowd) fighters clashed with IS militants in Saladin province, killing 10 militants and destroying a house. In Baiji, the international coalition conducted two airstrikes on IS' sites, killing five militants and destroying a vehicle.
