5 primitive bombs exploded in Cairo's Mataria district Tuesday, damaging 10 cars and 7 stores including two telecommunications outlets, no casualties were reported, Al Ahram news website reported. Security experts confirmed that each package contained 5 kg of highly explosive materials. Civil Protection units and bomb disposal experts combed the area for other potential threats. Egypt has been subjected to a wave of terrorist attacks in recent months, including bombings and shootings mostly targeting policemen and soldiers, however civilians have also been killed and injured in the attacks.
