Britain's foreign ministry condemned the recent terrorist attacks against security and civilians in Egypt, expressing concern over the use of "deadly force" by the police against demonstrators, in a statement released Monday. Foreign Office Minister for the Middle East Tobias Ellwood said on Monday that he deplored the deaths in Egypt, affirming that the UK stood by Egypt in its fight against terrorism. "We are also deeply concerned by the use of deadly force by the police against demonstrators," Ellwood said, adding that Egypt's long-term stability and success requires protection of rights and accountability of security forces. He called on Egypt to revise the demonstrations law. Egypt has witnessed clashes since last Sunday coinciding with the 4th anniversary of the Jan. 25. uprising which broke out between security and protesters across the nation. Bomb blasts and scares were also reported in various regions of the country. Sunday's clashes left 18 people killed and 82 injured. Dozens of Muslim Brotherhood supporters were arrested.
