Ismaily striker Essam Ali will be out of action for six months while he has surgery for a knee ligament injury, the club announced on Friday. "Medical scans showed that Ali is suffering from a cut in his knee ligament and will be out of action for six months," read a statement on the club's official website on Friday. The Dervishes' website also announced that the striker will travel to Cairo on Saturday to meet the team's doctor to organise the surgery. Ali joined the Ismaily senior football team during the winter transfer window of 2012. He sustained the injury during a goalless draw with Etancheite of DR Congo in the 32nd round of the CAF Confederation Cup. Ismaily will host Etancheite on Sunday in the second leg of the African tournament.
