Injury leaves Ahly without key player for Young Africans clash Ahly will be missing striker Meteb when they host Tanzanian side Young Africans in the CAF Champions League on Sunday
Ahly striker Emad Meteb will not be part of the Cairo giants' showdown against Tanzanian side the Young Africans in the African Champions League on Sunday due to a muscle injury. Meteb underwent surgery to remove a blood clot causing damage to his muscle, Ahly doctor Ehab Ali told the club's official website on Thursday. "The striker will be available for training on Friday but the medical staff prefers to rest him during the second leg game against Young Africans," Alo said. Ahly, who are the CAF Champions League title holders, will be hosting the Tanzanian team in the second leg of the African Champions League round of 32. The absence of the 31-year-old striker could aggravate the woes of the Egyptian giants, who are hoping for a speedy recovery after Ahly's shock 1-0 defeat in Saturday's first leg against the Young Africans in Tanzania.
