Elmohamady makes his show in the Premier League

Egyptian winger Ahmed Elmohamady found fame in England, following a dream debut with Sunderland that earned him his second pick for the Premier League Best XI by news network agency Sky Sports. Despite the fact that most of Egyptian players failed to adapt to different cultural atmospheres outside their homeland, Elmohamady broke the rule and made a good impact thanks to his skills, energy and devotion.
The 23 year-old international player made 10 appearances – most of them as a regular starter – with Sunderland, since joining the team on a season-long loan and buy-out option deal that signed last summer with Egyptian side Ennpi. Elmohamady inspired the Black Cats as they earned their second win of the season, after beating Aston Villa 1-0 last Saturday. He found comfort and action and he made it clear that he wants to extend his stay with Sunderland. "It's a nice place and people are so friendly. Everyone has been so helpful, especially here at the club. I feel as if I'm back home in Egypt," Elmohamady told Sky Sports.com
"I want to keep on playing in the Premier League, not for a year or two only. I want to do well for myself and my country".
Knowing that he has one of the hottest prospects of the Premier League, Sunderland coach Steve Bruce did not hide his desire to keep the young winger permanently by preparing a £2.5m-offer for Enppi next January. "The fee is agreed between the clubs and we are possibly looking to do it in January. We would love to make that permanent- he's a gem," Bruce told the Sunday Sun.
Bruce coached the Egyptian duo Amr Zaki and Mido last year at Wigan, but he thinks his new boy is totally different. "He is different. He is a frustration at times, he is a bit naïve, but he has blistering pace and he is fantastic in the air for the size of him," Bruce told Sky Sports. "He has been a fantastic addition for us, somebody who has taken to it and is enjoying the challenges of playing in the Premier League. "I can say that the Egyptian players I have had in the past have proved a bit difficult, if that's the right word," he concluded.
Bruce wasn't the only one impressed by Elmohamady's performances. The English media were full of praise for the new Egyptian star, linking him to Manchester United and Arsenal. The fact that the player is being monitored after his impressive displays assures that Sunderland will fight to keep him. But it's all up to the hot winger to decide whether he will maintain his breathtaking form and pace, or follow the lackluster run of his fellow countrymen Amr Zaki and Ahmed Hossam "Mido".
