Elmohamady's English getting better in timely manner Ahmed Elmohamady's English is improving as he plans for a long stay in the elite English Premier League
Egyptian wing-back Ahmed Elmohamady is working on improving his English language skills after making sure he is staying at Sunderland next season. The Black Cats took up an option to sign the former ENPPI man on a permanent deal after acquiring his services on a season-long loan last summer. “My English is getting better. I'm learning quickly and still having lessons with a teacher, but I'm doing okay,” he said in an interview with Sunderland's official website on Tuesday. Elmohamady made a big impact in his first season in the Premier League, with his pace down the right flank and pinpoint crosses causing constant menace to opponents. The 23-year-old, who made 29 appearances and created one goal, is over the moon to have prolonged his stay with Sunderland. “I'm very happy to stay with Sunderland for a long time. I like the club and I have done ever since I got here. That is why I stay. Everyone is excellent - the club, players and fans,” he added. “My fellow players have treated me well; there is a good feeling in the place. We have excellent players and they are excellent outside the pitch too. “It is a dream for me to play in the Premier League. I have imagined it ever since I was a child. For me it is the best league in the world - strong and quick.” Elmohamady also paid tribute to Sunderland coach Steve Bruce for helping him settle in the Premier League. “I like Mr. Bruce a lot. He has helped me very much since I arrived here and I think he is a good person and a good manager,” he commented.
