Ahly's youngster awaits loan offer from England's Nottingham Forest Mahmoud Hassan, commonly known as "Trezeguet", said Kuwaiti-owned English outfit Nottingham Forest will make an offer to sign him on a season-long loan
English second-tier club Nottingham Forest are seeking to sign Ahly's Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet” on a season-long loan, the promising midfielder said on Friday. “The offer will be officially presented to Ahly next week. I hope it will be finalized through the legal channels in a way that fits me and the club,” the 19-year-old, an attacking-minded midfielder, said on the club's official website. Trezeguet burst onto the scene with some fine displays in the heart of Ahly's midfield last season, helping the club win the African Champions League as well as the African Super Cup. He was also an instrumental member of the Egypt U-20 side that won the African Championship earlier this year and took part in the World Cup in Turkey last month. The promising youngster said he had also received an offer to join French side Nice but that he preferred to join Nottingham Forest. “The English offer is much better … I will have a better chance to feature regularly with Nottingham Forest than Nice,” he added. Nottingham Forest, who finished eighth in the English Championship (second division) last season, are owned by Kuwaiti Al-Hasawi family. Should Trezeguet complete a move to Nottingham Forest, he will become Egypt's third representative in English football, joining defender Adam El-Abd (Brighton) and winger Ahmed Elmohamady (Hull City). Trezeguet's club teammates Ahmed Fathi and Mohamed Nagy ‘Gedo' spent the second half of last season on loan at Hull City, helping them earn Premier League promotion before returning to Cairo giants Ahly.
