Egypt's meteorologists say there wil be morning mist in many parts of the country through next week, urging traffic officials to take necessary measures to prevent road accidents that may result from poor visibility. Head of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) Ahmed Abdel-Aal said heavy mist past midnight through the early morning is forecast in most parts of the country, from Saturday through the end of next week. He added in comments carried by state news agency MENA that the mist will also become thick fog in some areas, reducing visibility on the roads. He urged Egypt's ambulance and traffic authorities to take necessary measures to prevent traffic accidents. Earlier this week, four people were killed and 39 others injured in a major multi-vehicle collision on the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road as a result on early morning mist. Temperatures have slightly dropped in Cairo over the past two days, going down from the mid-twenties to a high of around 18 Celsius degrees and a low of 12-13 degrees. The cold weather is expected to continue, with highs of 19 degrees in Cairo and the country's north and lows of 10-11 degrees. The northern part of Upper Egypt will be the coldest, with lows dropping down to 7 degrees.
