Two of Egypt's main highways, Cairo-Alexandria and Wadi Al-Natrun- Al-Alamein roads, were closed Wednesday morning due to heavy fog, Al-Ahram Arabic Website reported. Moderate weather is expected today all over Egypt, with mild temperatures in Cairo and Upper Egypt (21 and 27 degrees Celsius respectively) during the day, cooling off to the low teens at night, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said on Tuesday. In an official statement reported by state news agency MENA, the EMA warned that heavy mist will affect visibility in the morning in Cairo, northern coast and Suez Canal cities, and northern Upper Egypt. Earlier this week, fog disturbed traffic on Cairo entry roads including the Shubra, 6th of October and 15th of May bridges. Egypt has been experiencing a wave of cold weather, with moderate rains in some parts of the country and fog in the early mornings. In October, severe rain led to floods that left 15 dead and 47 injured nationwide.
