The head of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) Ahmed Abdel-Aal said on Monday that heavy mists the country witnessed Monday morning are expected to continue through Thursday. The EMA head warned in a TV statement of low visibility on highways due to mist, and heavy fog in the early mornings, urging transportation authorities to take the necessary action to ensure road safety for drivers. This morning, transportation authorities closed Cairo-Alexandria and Assiut roads for several hours due to low visibility levels. The EMA advised early morning drivers to take extra caution, as morning fogs are expected to be intense over the next few days.
