The Suez-Cairo and Qattameya-Ain Sokhna roads, two of Egypt's main highways, were reopened Thursday after morning closures due to heavy fog, state news agency MENA reported. Traffic authorities also closed the Cairo-Alexandria road, 26th of July Corridor and Cairo's Ring Road to avoid road accidents caused by low-visibility early Thursday, re-opening them mid-morning. Egypt's Meteorological Authority has said the current wave of morning fogs is expected to continue until next Wednesday. The traffic authority has increased the number of traffic police on roads affected by fog this week to facilitate safe commutes. Egypt has been experiencing a wave of dense morning fogs since the beginning of the week, affecting traffic on Cairo's main entry roads.
