Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry has hailed his players' impressive performance after winning the 39th Egyptian league title, insisting that his team made a record despite of the difficult road towards the domestic achievement. "I am very happy with our achievement. I want to dedicate the title to our fans," El-Badry told ON Sport TV channel after the match. "Winning the league is very important and the road to the title wasn't easy especially with such a busy schedule in several competitions," he added. The Reds have been crowned 2016/2017 Egyptian League champions with four matches to spare after playing out a 2-2 draw with rivals and second-placed Maqassa at Suez's Army Stadium on Monday. Defending champions Ahly have won their 10th title in the past 11 seasons. "I was confident of winning the title this season and I want to thank my players for their effort," said El-Badry. "We did a record and now we will focus in our commitments in both the African Champions League and Egypt Cup," the 57-year old coach concluded. Under the guidance of El-Badry, Ahly won the title without conceding a single defeat over 30 games. Ahly are currently competing in the African Champions League Group stage, while the club is set to face rivals Wadi degla in Egypt Cup quarters.
