Ahly coach reveals season's priorities, hopes to avoid Eseperance in African Champions League

Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry said on Monday that his priorities are winning the Egyptian Premier League and African Champions League titles – but avoiding Tunisia's Eseperance in the continental tournament's group stage would make his team's mission easier.
Ahly secured an easy 1-0 league win over Tanta on Monday, cementing their position at the top of the league table with 67 points, 10 ahead of second-placed Maqassa and a massive 21-points clear of arch-foes Zamalek in third place.
"I am happy with the result and performance, but at the same time, the Tanta team deserves some appreciation for what they did in the game," El-Badry told Sada El-Balad TV channel after the match.
"We won the last five matches and we need to win the coming two [against El-Entag El-Harby and Talae El-Geish] before entering the important stage of the title race. Our main aim is to win the league title and certainly it will be great to achieve that without losses.
"My ambition is the same of our fans, because the priority is to win the Egyptian league and Champions League titles this season, as they are among the favorite tournaments for Ahly," the coach added.
The eight-time African champions, Ahly, sealed a place in the continental competition's group stage following a 1-0 win on aggregate over South Africa's Bidvest Wits late in March. The group stage draw is yet to take place later this month.
"Ahly always works at winning new titles. The African Champions League is a priority, as the team won it last time in 2013, the Egypt Cup is also important, but it takes third place of us. Now we are fully concentrated on achieving our aims," the 57-year old coach explained.
"I hope we will be lucky in the draw, because facing Tunisia's Esperance will be a tough challenge," he concluded.
Under the guidance of El-Badry, Ahly won the Champions League title in 2012 after a 3-2 win on aggregate over Esperance.
