Egypt winger Ahmed Elmohamady has said that he is satisfiedwith the friendly encounter with Brazil, claiming that he was able to stop dangerous opponent Daniel Alves.
The Pharaohs delivered a humble performance against the star-less Selecao in the Qatari capital, Doha, and were defeated 2-0 courtesy of a doublescored by Valencia striker Jonas at the 39th and 59th minutes.
“I played as a left winger and this is not my favourite position, but American coach Bob Bradley thought I was his best choice to stop Barcelona's Alves,” Sunderland defender Elmohamady said after the match.
“I think I succeeded in my task and I am satisfied with the experience.
“I am really happy about the good spirit of the team and good relations with my teammates,” the former ENPPI player added.
The 24-year-old player has been praised by Egypt's new technical staff, under the leadership of former United States manager Bradley.
“Alves is a key player in Brazil but we made him less dangerous by marking him with Elmohamady,” Bradley said.
