Egypt coach Bob Bradley had a sour experience in his debut with the seven-time African champions after losing 2-0 to Brazil in a friendly game held in the Qatari capital Doha on Monday. Valencia striker Jonas scored twice in 39 and 59 minutes to convert his teammates' domination who could have extended lead but were denied by a series of stunning saves from new keeper Ahmed El-Shennawy. The Pharaohs barely troubled the Brazilian's defence except of some solo efforts in a very poor offensive display against the five-time world champion who missed the flair of the likes Neymar, Ronaldinho, Ganso, Kaka, Robinho and Alexandre Pato. Classic 4-4-2 and new faces Bradley started the game with a classic 4-4-2 formation including three new faces keeper Ahmed El-Shennawy, defender Ahmed Hegazy and left-back Ahmed Nassef. The Egyptians had the first sight of goal when Mahmoud Abdel-Razek “Shikabala” curled an amazing free-kick only to be denied by keeper Diego Alves. The Pharaohs couldn't come up with more because they attacked with long downfield passes instead of advancing with the short passing game that has served them so well. The Selecao took control of the game and pushed their opponents deep into their half. Porto striker Hulk has been the major threat creating a lot of troubles for the defenders and moving down the left flank. He came close from scoring after receiving Leiva's long ball inside the area but being under pressure his effort went over the bar. El-Shennawy, 20, had to make some excellent stretches to deny clear-cut chances from Cesar, Sandro and Hernanes. But he couldn't hold forever as Hulk moved behind full-back Nassef to send a low cross inside the six yards for Jonas who easily slid it in the goal in the 38th minute. Egypt were limited up front as strikers Emad Meteb and Mohamed Zidan were closely marked and the latter seemed the shadow of himself after being left on the sidelines with Dortmund for more than a year. Bradley made a couple of changes at the interval bringing in Walid Soliman and Ibrahim Salah at the place of Zidan and Hossam Ghaly. Just seconds before the hour mark, Brazil hero Jonas doubles the lead to level his tally of goals with the Selecao to two goals in five appearances. El-Shennawy blocks Fernandinho's header only to find the Valencia striker who sent it back into the net from inside the six yards. Better but not enough The Pharaohs pushed forward in an attempt to bounce back into this game. Lierse striker Mohamed Elgabas and skipper Ahmed Hassan came into the game helping the team to slightly improve their display but that wasn't enough to threaten Alves. The 36-year old Hassan, who equaled the 178-game world record of international appearances registered in the name of Saudi keeper Mohamed El-Deayea, fired a 25-yard shot to close the gap but he was brilliantly denied by the Brazilian keeper. El-Shennawy had to produce a couple of more amazing saves denying Dudu from opening his scoring account with Brazil and keep the score at 2-0.
