Somali rebels threaten to enter Kenya if troops stay Al-Shabab fighters warn of cross-border retaliation following Kenyan military operations inside war-ravaged Somalia
Somalian Al-Shabab militants said on Monday that they would cross into Kenya if the Nairobi government did not withdraw its troops from Somalia. "Kenyan troops have entered 100 kilometres into Somalia and their planes bombarded many places and killed residents," Al-Shabab spokesman Sheikh Ali Mohamud Rage told reporters in a town south of Mogadishu. "We shall come into Kenya if you do not go back." Kenyan and Somali forces on Sunday launched an operation in southern Somalia aimed at pursuing militants, allegedly linked to Al-Qaeda and said to be behind a wave of recent kidnappings, in hopes of driving the militants away from Kenya's border. http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/24377.aspx
