CAIRO: Prime Minister Kamal el-Ganzouri has announced the formation of a national council for families of martyrs and injured on Tuesday, December 13. The council will determine the exact number of martyrs and injured in all 27 governorates. El-Ganzouri said the Ministry of Health allocated places for curing families of martyrs and injured inside 52 hospitals across Egypt's governorates. South Sinai is the only governorate with no martyrs or injuries, while Marsa Matrouh only has injuries, added el-Ganzouri. The total number of victims doesn't include the Maspiro victims, estimated at 31 deceased and 292 injured; or the Mohamed Mahmoud Street clashes, which are estimated at 46 deceased and 471 injured, said el-Ganzouri. During his press conference at the General Institute for Investment on Tuesday, December 13, el-Ganzouri expressed his sorrow for the revolution's martyrs, adding that he delayed his condolences since taking over because he has not delivered their rights yet. There was a pension of 1,500 EGP for martyrs' families, which was increased to 1,725 EGP; this will also be increased, added el-Ganzouri.
