Former Prime Minister visits tribes in Matrouh

MARSA MATROUH, Egypt: Former Egyptian Prime Minister and likely presidential candidate, Ahmed Shafiq, visited the tribes of Awlad Alwani in Marsa Matrouh recently to offer condolences on the death of a tribe member in the town of Dabaa.
Shafiq was a guest of tribal elder, Sheikh Abdel Hamid Alwani. Shafiq participated in tribal ceremonies and had a feast in the victim's honor. Later he discussed the issues of Bedouins in Egypt with the tribal members.
