PM establishes new body to care for injured and families of martyrs El-Ganzouri also revealed updated figures for those killed in the Maspero and Mohamed Mahmoud Street clashes in Egypt
Egyptian Prime Minister Kamal El-Ganzouri announced in a press conference on Tuesday afternoon that the government has established a national council for the care of those injured in the revolution and the families of the revolution's martyrs. The new body will be under the supervision of the Cabinet. The premier added that the latest figures for the number of victims of the clashes at Maspero are 31 martyrs and 292 injured, while the Mohamed Mahmoud Street clashes resulted in 46 martyrs and 471 injured. El-Ganzouri stated that there are currently only 68 political prisoners in Egyptian prisons, adding that 20,103 political prisoners have been released since last February 2011. The prime minister held a meeting earlier with the families of the martyrs and those injured in the revolution.
