CAIRO: Unprecedented turnout for parliamentary elections reflects Egyptians' desire to express their opinions and achieve democracy, said Moharam Helal, executive head of the Egyptian Union of Investors Assemblies. He also said the electoral process, if continued, would lead to the election of a democratic parliament that will truly express the people. He added that achieving progress in the democratic transition will push the economic situation forward and resolve the current economic crises. Chairman of October 6 Investors Assembly Safwan Sabet described the electoral process as an unprecedented experience in Egypt. He added that the different parties performed their roles positively, including the security forces that secured the polling stations. Aboul Ela Aboul Naga, an official in the 10th of Ramadan Investors Assembly, said citizens are convinced of their votes' importance in achieving a balance among the different political powers. He praised the role Egypt's military institution played in securing the elections, which encouraged citizens to vote in the current elections.
