CAIRO: The Maspiro Youth Movement decided to abandon their Maspiro Martyrs' Memorial march scheduled for Thursday at 6pm on Nile river boats. One of the movement's members told Youm7, "After the river boats' owners refused to start the march without a security license, we decided to start it with cars but refrained after clashes in Shubra left 7 wounded." He also said Coptic Christians decided to abandon the march in fear of renewed bloody clashes between them and the military police. The Copts believed this could have given infiltrators a chance to incite violence again, as was the case on September 9.
