The agreement raises QatarEnergy's total number of offshore concessions in Egypt to six, in partnership with international energy majors including Eni, Chevron, and ExxonMobil, the ministry said. Under the deal, QatarEnergy and its partners plan to invest in drilling several natural gas exploration wells over the next five years, including three scheduled for 2026, as part of efforts to boost Egypt's natural gas output. The North Rafah offshore area covers around 3,000 square kilometres off Egypt's northeastern Mediterranean coast, with water depths reaching up to 450 metres.
