All spillways in Aswan City are ready to receive the expected rain and floodwater, said Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hisham Qandil. The spillways were prepared throughout the city in coordination with executive bodies, a process that included removing obstacles to efficiently control water flow without affecting residential areas. At a meeting with Dam workers headed by engineer Younis Abdel Sallam, Qandil heard the demands of the workers at the High Dam and promised to find solutions to their issues. Qandil also reported that he discussed the High Damn museum project with experts at the Authority, which will be inaugurated by the Ministry on the anniversary of the Dam's completion this January. “An agreement was made with the Ministry of Culture to organize an international celebration to reflect the importance of the High Dam in Egyptians' lives,” Qandil added.
