CAIRO: The Center for Translation Studies at the American University in Cairo will sign a memorandum of understanding with the National Center for Translation at the Ministry of Culture on Monday. The memorandum deals with cooperation in the fields of translation studies and training, in response to the needs of the local market and to combine regional and international efforts to create a new generation of qualified professionals in these areas. They will also be signing an agreement to establish a "House of Translation," which will host a group of experienced translators every year to provide lectures and workshops, with the aim of cooperation between graduate students and professionals who want to progress in their studies or professionals in the field of research translation and practice. The signing ceremony will be held in the Oriental Hall of AUC's downtown campus. It will be attended by Minister of Culture Emad Abu Ghazi, AUC President Lisa Anderson, Director of the National Center for Translation Dr. Faisal Younis, AUC Provost Medhat Haroun, and Samia Mehrez, director of AUC's Center for Translation Studies.
