For the past year a filming workshop was held under the auspices of Townhouse Gallery and ZINdoc Production Company (Netherlands). Objective of the workshop was the creation of a self-portrait, inspired both by innovations and trends in communication and the age old concept of the artists self-portrait. During the project's workshops, Egyptian artists were taught the basics of autobiographical filming and discussed different forms of personal storytelling with Dutch filmmaker Corinne van Egeraat. The project will continue until the end of the year, resulting in a joint portfolio of short films and a collaborative group work directed by Van Egeraat. On the October 30, seven participating artists will present their newest autobiographical short films. They will be screened as a work-in-progress at the Townhouse Library from 8:00 to 9:00 P.M. There will be a Q&A with the artists after the screening.
