Fareed Zahra, Member of the General Secretariat of the Egyptian Bloc, told Youm7 the parties forming the Egyptian Bloc called for a boycott of the parliamentary elections if they used the current election law, especially the reservation of a third of the seats for independently-elected candidates. Zahran asked the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces to hold elections using only a party list, and immediate repeal of the emergency law. Zahran underlined the importance of passing the isolation law, which would prevent the candidacy of former National Democratic Party members.
