The ruling Military Council, the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), has issued a decree to amend the local administration law by adding two articles, according to Minister of Local Development Mohamed Attiya. The amendments will establish a new administration for inspecting workers in administration. According to the amendments, "The Minister of Justice and the Minister of Local Development are authorized to give any employee the judicial power to monitor the workplace and to punish corrupt employees." The SCAF also issued a decree to dissolve all local councils and form temporary ones in different governorates, that will include judges, professors and social leaders, said Attiya. He also said that the temporary councils will carry out all the tasks of the dissolved local councils until new elections are held.
