CAIRO: Former President Hosni Mubarak and his Kuwaiti defense team arrived at the Police Academy hosting his trial Wednesday morning. The defense team, which volunteered to defend the ousted president, was permitted to attend the trail by the Head of the Court of Appeals, al-Said Abdel Aziz. Mubarak, his sons Gamal and Alaa, former Interior Minister Habib al-Adly, six of Adly's assistants, and fugitive businessman Hussein Salem face charges of killing demonstrators during Egypt's January 25 uprising and financial corruption. Today is the fourth session of the trial, which will hear the testimony of three witnesses. Gamal and Alaa Mubarak, Adly, and his six assistants have arrived to the court as well. A small number of Mubarak supporters as well as many families of demonstrators killed during the January 25 Revolution gathered outside of the trial. Security forces separated the two groups to prevent clashes. Fans of the al-Ahly and Zamalek football clubs also came to the trial to defend martyrs families.
