The Coptic Christian Church in Alexandria demanded Egypt's ruling military council to quickly conduct an investigation into the case of the Saints Church bombing to find out the real perpetrators are. The church criticized the fact the situation still remains unclear despite it has been eight months after the incident. The lawyer of the Saints Church and the President of the Egyptian Center for Studies and Human Rights, Joseph Malak said these events were given the impression of religious discrimination in Egypt and that authorities do not care about justice for the Christian victims of this incident. Makak, along with the head of the religious council of the church, Kamil Sadek, presented a formal request to the military council demanding an investigation with the former Minister of Interior, Habib al-Adly, who is suspected of being responsible for the case. The two also asked the military council to investigate about the information submitted by policeman Mohammed Abdel Nab during an interview with broadcaster Mahmoud Saad on August 24 on the TV program ‘Ya Masr Koomi.' They also stressed the need to issue a special statement to reassure the families that the authorities are not neglecting the case. On New Year's Eve, there was a bombing in front of the Saints Church in Alexandria where many Christians were ending their New Year's mass.
