The Republican member of the U.S. Congress, Kay Garner, threatened to suspend the U.S. financial aids to Egypt if the Egyptian government violated the Camp David Peace Treaty, signed between Israel and Egypt in 1979. She added the Muslims Brotherhood's (MB) role in the next government will determine the amount of aid offered from the U.S. to the Egyptian government. Garner told the Israeli newspaper Jerusalem Post the peace between Egypt and Israel is a top priority in the American agenda so U.S. aid is based on Egypt's commitment to remain peaceful with Israel. She stressed the commitment to the peace treaty was raised during a meeting between Egypt and Israel in March of 2011. The American official denied Israel discussed the U.S. aid with Egypt after the recent diplomatic crisis. She said the international community should support any country that respects peace.
