CAIRO: The Egyptian soccer clubs Al-Ahly and Zamalek have been fined 300,000 EGP (U.S. $50,900) for their fans' use of intensive fireworks and lasers during last night's match. The competition committee of the Egyptian Football Association also decided to suspend Al-Ahly midfielder Hossam Ashor, and Al-Ahly defender Wael Gomaa for infractions during the match. Zamalek was fined because its coach Hossam Hassan clashed with the Al-Ahly coach Manuel Jose. Zamalek defender Hani Said was also fined 5,000 EGP for breaking into the Al-Ahly dressing room after the match, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
