Ahli have been handed an EGP 20,000 fine over the crowd trouble that marred their Egyptian League game against Masri earlier this month. The Cairo-based club slumped to a 2-0 defeat to Masri in Port Said in an ill-tempered clash. Ahli supporters pelted the pitch with stones, bottles and fireworks in the final stages of the game. They also threw stones at a bus carrying members of Masri team, few minutes before the match's kick-off "Ahli were fined because their supporters breached the fan code of conduct," the Egyptian FA said in a statement on their website. The Egyptian FA's decision is unlikely to go down well with Ahli.
Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan The club have recently refused to pay EGP 5,000 as a fine for their fans' repeated insults towards some FA officials in the 3-0 victory over Olympic in the Egyptian League opener. Masri Punished Masri were also punished. They were handed an EGP 10,000 fine for charges similar to those of Ahli. The club's football director Ibrahim Hassan was banned for one match for 'protesting the referee's decision in an inappropriate way'. His twin, Masri coach Hossam Hassan, has been also fined EGP 10,000 for confronting the referee to protest against his brother's dismissal during the match.
