CAIRO: A metro passenger committed suicide today by throwing himself in front of the train upon its arrival into Koubri al-Kouba station. He died instantly. The head of the Egyptian company for management and operation of the underground, engineer Mohamed al-Sheemy, said in a press release that the metro is working regularly now after clearing the accident sight. He also said that the metro driver wasn't able to stop the train because it happened so suddenly. The remains were cleared to allow the trains' movement again after a brief interruption in service. Al-Sheemy said a report was filed on the incident. Eyewitnesses have testified, and police officers are studying the accident to identify the man.
