Barnsley have announced sacking manager Keith Hill following a home defeat to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday. A 3-1 defeat - Barnsley's seventh at Oakwell this season - sealed Hill's fate after 18 months in charge of the Tykes. The 43-year-old leaves Barnsley rock bottom of the 24-club Championship as relegation to League One seems on the cards. Forced to work with a very small budget, Hill was the man who brought Egypt international Mido to Barnsley on a free transfer last summer. But Mido, who is on the verge of leaving Oakwell, has been anything but a successful signing, having played no more than half an hour so far for his new club.
