Al-Wasl boss Bruno Metsu has called for the support of Shikabala as he dismissed that the newly-signed midfielder is a trouble-maker. Shikabala, who joined the UAE side on loan from Zamalek, had been usually criticized for some irresponsible acts during his spell at the Whites, which saw him fall out with the club's board and management on several occasions. His demeanor eventually prompted his exit from the Cairo giants after a shock rant saw him yell at former manager Hassan Shehata when the latter decided to substitute him in a continental home game back in May. “Shikabala is not a trouble-maker as it has been rumored. He's a great lad with a great character; we all must support him," Metsu told a pre-match conference ahead of Sunday's league opener with Wahda. “He boasts superb abilities and skills. As a coach I'm totally satisfied with his level of performance. Shikabala enjoyed a fine debut with his new club, claiming a goal and putting in an impressive performance to help his side to a 4-2 Emirate Cup victory over Ittihad in midweek.
