Al-Wasl manager Bruno Metsu believes his side can go for the Emirate league title if he had another player like Shikabala, comparing the Egyptian to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Shikabala dazzled on his Wasl debut in a friendly match two days ago, dishing out two assists and showing glimpses of his dribbling dexterity. His performance has obviously impressed his manager, who seem willing to hand the Zamalek loanee a permanent contract. “Shikabala is a player of the highest caliber like Messi, Ronaldo and (Wayne) Rooney," Frenchman Metsu was quoted as saying by Emirate media. “He is like a magician inside the pitch. Whenever he has the ball, our shape seems to improve. He can create chances and score out of nothing. “I think he deserves to be considered one of the best players in Africa. I've witnessed the emergence of Al-Hadji Diuof for example, but I think Shikabala is more talented. “If I have two players like Shikabala. I think Al-Wasl can compete for the league title." Al-Wasl – one of UAE's most popular clubs – finished eighth in the league last term.
