Al-Wasl's Egyptian midfielder Shikabala vows not to talk to the press during his stay in the Gulf, according to an official from the Emirate club. Shikabala, who is on a season-long loan from Zamalek, is regarded as one of the biggest transfer coups this summer in the UAE. “Shikabala has decided not to speak to Emirate media after the criticism he used to face in Egypt before," Al-Wasl GM Hamid Youssef said. “We have to respect his decision but I am sure he will make peace with our media on day. “He is naturally shy. He doesn't like to have interviews or appear on TV." Shikabala received big applause from Al-Wasl manager Bruno Metsu, who dubbed the Egypt international one of the best African players he has seen. The 26-year-old has been under fire in Egypt after his infamous touchline row with former Zamalek boss Hassan Shehata back in May. Since the incident, he has not been called up by the Egypt national team.
