ENPPI were dumped out of the CAF Confederation Cup round of 16 after being condemned to a 3-0 loss at Cercle Bamako, throwing away their first-leg lead. The Egypt Cup champions, who took a 3-1 first leg win to Bamako, conceded three goals to lose 4-3 on aggregate and a missed penalty from Amr Al-Halawani summed up the frustration. ENPPI travelled to Bamako amid a series of political unrest in Mali, a turmoil that saw Egyptian champions Ahli stranded for four days following their game at Stade Malien a fortnight ago.
