Mainz claimed a goalless draw at Bundesliga title-contenders Bayern Munich, while Mohamed Zidan remained as an unused sub for the whole game. After starting on the bench against Stuttgart and Werder Bremen, Zidan returned to the starting eleven in last week's win over Koln and scored the second of his side's four. But coach Thomas Tuchel decided to leave out his top scorer on Saturday as Adam Szalai played as a lone forward for the whole game against Bavarian giants Bayern. The morale-boosting draw keeps Mainz further away from the relegation zone as they are now eight points off the bottom three, with three games to go.
