Sunderland's Ahmed Elmohamady is likely to start for Egypt in Thursday's friendly with Nigeria after being allowed to join the national team by his club. The full-back has been added to the Egypt squad camping in Dubai as he remains to be out of favor for manager Martin O'Neill on Wearside. “It's a great chance to play in games and get myself into the selected squad for the national team,” said Elmohamady. “I've spoken with the manager and he welcomed the idea and gave me the permission to go and play some competitive games.” Elmo, who has yet to start a game under O'Neill's management, will miss Premier League games against Wolves and Aston Villa during his stay with Egypt. The 24-year-old's future at the Stadium of Light has become anything but secure, with English reports suggesting that he is among a handful of players to be offloaded in the summer.
