Amr Zaki has once again failed to join the Egypt squad travelling to Sudan due to an ankle injury. The 28-year-old, who was named in Bob Bradley's 27-man squad for friendly games against Uganda and Chad, picked up a knock in Zamalek's 1-0 Champions League win over Africa Sports on Sunday. “I informed coach Bradley that I will need a three-day rest and will therefore be unable to join the squad. The coach understood my situation,” Zaki told FilGoal.com. “It is an honor to be named in the national team squad but I need to be fully fit in order to play well.” Zaki has been plagued by a series of injuries throughout the past three years; a setback that saw him pull out of the Egypt squad on several occasions. In August 2010, he was criticized by former Egypt coach Hassan Shehata - currently in charge of Zamalek - when he missed a friendly game with an injury, only to play for his club a few days later. Meanwhile, Dakhlia striker Ahmed Temsah has been recalled to join the squad for the friendlies taking place on March 29 and 31.
