Zamalek midfield star Shikabala has skived off Egypt's training camp for the second straight day without revealing reasons behind his absence. Shikabala, who was ruled out of Zamalek's recent Champions League draw at Tanzania's Young Africans through injury, had been named in the national team's squad for this month training camp. The 25-year-old, however, failed to show up along with his Zamalek teammates, who were due to join Bob Bradley's squad right after the Tanzania trip. “Shikabala has been absent from training for the second day now without explaining any excuses,” Egypt assistant manager Diaa Al-Sayed told FilGoal.com. “We tried to call him but he switched off his phone and we know nothing about him. “We contacted Zamalek's coaching staff but they insist that they do not know anything regarding his whereabouts.” Zamalek assistant coach Ismail Youssef indicated this week that it was ‘unnecessary' to release players for international duty after proposed friendlies against Uganda and Kenya were called off for security reasons. Egypt, however, are set to continue their training camp in Qatar as the management is hopeful to have the previously-arranged friendly games staged in Doha.
